In light of rapidly changing international affairs, global environmental issues, and drastic shifts in our business environment, the Toyota Tsusho Group has reviewed its Material Issues (key issues) to achieve both a sustainable society and long-term corporate value enhancement.
In this review, we redefined our strengths and the value we provide for future society, clarifying our role as a trading company operating globally. Based on the previous identification process, we analyzed importance by reflecting internal and external environmental changes. Taking into consideration feedback from our stakeholders, the new materiality was officially decided following discussions by the Board of Directors.
With this review as an opportunity, the Toyota Tsusho Group will continuously engage with stakeholders throughout the entire process—from setting KPIs and rolling out initiatives to conducting periodic reviews. Moving forward, we will continue to verify validity and enhance our initiatives through dialogue, leading to sustainable value creation.
We are currently working with each business division to formulate quantitative and qualitative KGIs (Key Goal Indicators) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) corresponding to the new materiality. These will be disclosed on this website as soon as they are determined.
We have newly defined seven materialities—important issues that we must tackle in order to sustainably grow alongside our planet and society. These materialities indicate the areas in which we must take action through our business, centered on our mission of “passing on a better Earth to the children of the future.” Led by these materialities, we will contribute to the solving of global issues and strive to create a sustainable future.
